Join one of the Street Historians' experienced women's history guides on this unique walking tour of Edinburgh's bold and gallus women! Trace the footsteps and hear the stories of female scientists, artists and political activists of the last 1000 years who changed Scotland and the world. You'll learn about Mary Somerville, the 18th century "Queen of Science", Elizabeth Whiskeman, an Edinburgh University academic and anti Nazi spy, and the Edinburgh 7, the first female undergraduate medical students at any British University.

This 2-hour tour is an essential part of understanding Edinburgh and Scotland’s role in world history. It puts women into a central role and reveals fascinating stories nobody else has about the city.

Tour takes place in the old town of Edinburgh with some steep hills and 10-15 stairs.
